My Students

Our Pre-Kindergarten students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are our inspiration!

Our school is located in West Harlem (Title I District).

Our student population is diverse and include Hispanic, African American, Caucasian, Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian), Biracial, ENL (English as a New Language), IEP (Individualized Education Program) students. Diversity within our school is something we embrace and nurture.

My Project

These materials will truly benefit my pre-k children. Right now our Art Area is missing quite a few fun items. Art is very important for children that are there and four. This helps them to build their cognitive skills, fine motor skills, and language. I'm super excited to see their faces when they receive these groovy art supplies. Art matters, and I want to show them how much it matters. Art allows for Pre-K children to be able to foster their intellectual development and stimulate their brains. Art also helps them with memory, attention, and concentration. Art helps their reading skills and improves their math and science skills.
