My Project

Please help me give my students materials for a therapeutic art project designed to enhance the mental health of special needs students through greeting card making. This initiative aims to provide students with a creative outlet that fosters self-expression, boosts self-esteem, and strengthens emotional resilience.

Greeting card making is a versatile and engaging activity that allows students to express their thoughts and feelings in a tangible form.

Our program will supply high-quality materials including cardstock, colored markers, paint stickers, and decorative elements. We have some of these supplies, but are in need of cardstock, envelopes, and a paper cutter. By engaging in this creative process, students will have the opportunity to develop fine motor skills, practice problem-solving, and experience a sense of accomplishment as they create personalized cards for themselves, their peers, and their families.

Engaging in art activities like card making has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, offering a therapeutic outlet for students to process emotions. Completing a greeting card provides a sense of achievement and pride, contributing positively to self-worth. By creating cards for others, students will practice empathy and strengthen their social interactions, enhancing their sense of belonging.

This project will provide a meaningful and therapeutic experience for special needs students, promoting their mental health and well-being through the simple yet profound act of greeting card crafting. We respectfully request funding for the materials necessary to bring this vision to life and make a lasting impact on the lives of these students.
