My students are 5th graders who have many different interests! After being virtual, my students are wanting to do hands-on activities together! Since being online, they have not had much exposure to projects or materials. They cannot wait to do more this school year! I am excited to give them more opportunities. I also work at a Title I school.
Most of my students come from poverty and cannot afford any materials.
I do the best I can to provide them with supplies, but sometimes, we do not have enough. They have motivation but need more help than I can sometimes give them with materials.
I teach both ELA and science, and I lead science for my 5th grade team. My students love working on projects since we are in person after 2 years of virtual learning.
My Project
My students have designed a greenhouse in class when we learned about ecosystems. We made a blueprint of a greenhouse and ways to keep it organized, free of parasites and bad weather. They are so excited to work on this!
This would give them a chance to bring their dreams to life and grow plants and vegetables they can take home.
My students wrote down what kinds of things they want to grow and most of them would like to do vegetables like peppers. The climate in our area allows us to do this project. Not only would your donation help students this year, but the greenhouse would be up for many years to come, so many generations of students can enjoy it. Students would feel excitement and pride every time we pass the greenhouse on our way to lunch! They are so excited!
This is a project the whole 5th grade can do, so it would benefit so many leaders of the future.
Donations will go toward a greenhouse, pots for growing, and seeds.
