My Project

An after-school initiative where students grow indoor plants, cultivate flowers for bulk bouquets, and grow vegetables like collard greens. The project focuses on teaching plant biology, indoor and outdoor gardening practices, and entrepreneurship. The aim is to provide students with hands-on educational experiences while fostering environmental stewardship and promoting healthy eating habits. Our school is Martin Luther King High School located in Germantown ,Pa. where our students are from the neighborhood and generational families have graduated from our school.

This project educates students on plant biology, indoor and outdoor gardening techniques, and sustainable practices.

It will develop students' entrepreneurial skills through the cultivation and sale of indoor plants, bouquets, and vegetables.Promote environmental awareness, the benefits of indoor plants, and the importance of locally grown produce.Generate funds to support the continuation and growth of the project.

The expected outcomes of this project will improve student knowledge of plant biology, gardening techniques, and bouquet arrangementDevelopment of practical business skills.Increased awareness of the benefits of indoor plants and fresh produce. Successful sales events generating funds for future project cycles.
