My Students

My third graders are inquisitive, caring, hardworking students. My class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of Southern California. The administrators, teachers, and parents collaboratively work toward developing each student into a future productive and successful citizen. Our school is a Science, Technology, Math Magnet and is committed to STEM education as well as character development.

I hope to instill in them hands-on lessons that will last a lifetime.

You can help facilitate that! Your donation will give my students the tools they need to learn these valuable lessons that will stick with them as they grow. My students enthusiastically come to school inquisitive and excited to learn.

I encourage each child in my class to do their best in all they do, even when school is a challenge for them. I do my best to ensure that every student has a place to feel like they can try new things and explore both academically and socially.

My Project

With distance learning this fall, we will be learning over the computer with daily Zoom lessons. One of the more amazing aspects of that is the ability to transport ourselves to many different places via Green Screen field trips! Since I will be working from my family room, I need a way to set up a green screen that won't need hammer and nails. That is where the portable green screen comes in!

Using this awesome green screen I will be able to take the students on many exciting adventures through our computer!

I will be able to give them the feeling that we are soaring over California at Disneyland or visiting the Statue of Liberty in New York. We can learn about the various National Monuments which is part of our social studies unit in third grade.

What is even better is that once distance learning is over, and we are able to have in-person classes again, the green screen can be used there too. The kids will be able to capture pictures and create movies in our classroom! Since it is portable, we can put it up and down when we need it. This is a win-win for everyone!
