This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school in New York. Our school is located in an area with a very high concentration of poverty. Most, if not all, of my students are eligible for free lunch. They are a hard working group of first graders who are persistent and determined to do well in school. They are a group of hard workers who need essential resources to help them do their best work at home and at school.

My Project

In an effort to integrate the arts with STEM (science, technology and engineering) lessons, I would like my students to use the laptop to create their very own 'green screen' adventure after taking a tour to destination of their choice. For example, my students can take a virtual trip to the International Space Station, Mt. Rushmore or even 'swim; with the sharks. On their virtual trip, they will be exploring these various destinations and taking notes, noting what they see, think and wonder! They will then use the laptop to grab images for the backdrop for their green screen/virtual reality adventure. With your help, my students will be able to take virtual trips around the world and beyond and share what they have learned with their classmate and even their families all the interesting and exciting things they have learned. They will use the flash drives to save their green screen adventures.
