Help Ms. M.

We "Just Do It!" at the ******** Program which is an alternative school for high risk students. We meet challenges head on with our 9 through 12 grade students by helping them reach their goals to graduate with a high school diploma.

Students that enroll into our program have low self-esteem and feel they are not good enough to make it in a regular school environment. We have a can do attitude and challenge our students beyond the limits with what resources we have available. We wrote a grant for a greenhouse and it was recently funded. Now the challenge our students are facing is materials to get this greenhouse going. They are excited about the greenhouse and would rather do a hands on science class then put their nose in a book. We are happy our students want to learn about plants and take care of their greenhouse throughout the school year. Since we are a small school and at the bottom of the priority list for supplies and materials especially since we added an extra curriculum to our science program. We need your support in helping our students acquire these needed supplies to start their greenhouse adventure.

We need supplies and materials to start our greenhouse adventure. A cart to move our plants back and forth during winter and spring seasons. Plant starter set to start growing plants indoors before replanting them out doors in the spring. This in/out door gardening project will give our high risk students the opportunity to learn about what it takes to grow plants, flowers, and vegetables year round. They will also learn what to do with their produce after it is grown. Sell it at the farmers market or local grocery stores or donate it to the local food bank. Our students will experience how reading, writing, math, science, history, and social studies ties into growing plants or flowers. They will understand why these subjects are so important to learn in school and how it will benefit them in the outside world as a whole.

You will make it possible for our high risk students to realize they play an important part in this universe by contributing to an environment that is "Green and Clean" and made in the USA by their hands an commitment.
