My Students

In my classroom, students learn that science, technology, engineering and mathematics can be creative, exciting, and fun. Students learn STEM concepts in a positive environment that embraces 21st century learning.

My students come from families from all around the world and from a diverse array of home environments.

My school is a place where struggling learners are embraced and supported with a positive learning environment. Project-based learning, personalized learning, and multi modal instruction make sure that every student has an opportunity to learn however they learn best.

My Project

Over the past 5 years, I have developed various projects that involve students in a process of sustainable design and green architecture. In one project, students must redesign spaces in our local community, planning, building, and presenting models of their redesigns to their classmates. These projects are incredibly engaging for students, connecting them to local environmental issues and STEM concepts in a hands-on, and creative way, but they have become materials intensive and, frankly, wasteful (we're learning about sustainability after all!)

Using legos for my students architectural models will provide a reusable alternative that will enhance the value and authenticity of the learning experience.
