Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in an urban school with a lot of ESL and low-level students who come to school with many needs besides school. I want to help my students get off to a successful start by getting some basic items like notebooks, folders, and pencils. Teaching science is difficult and there are a lot of different activities and things we do so these items will help my students be better organized, comfortable, and less stressed.

The folders and notebooks can help the students keep important information like review sheets and notes while also writing down their daily PDN's and learning reflections.

We can keep these in my room and students won't lose them and will have easy access to them with all of the important information right there for them. A lot of my students lose things or are very unorganized which leads to stress and frustration along with less suction class.

The whiteboards can help all students stay actively engaged in class and don't have to be worried about being signaled out while I assess how we are doing on a concept. The snacks can help those that need them along with using them as incentives. The tissues, towels, and pencils allow all the students to have access to basic things that they may not have every day. The games can also be used as an incentive to tie into using review questions in with the game.
