My Project

My Students

My school has a diverse student body, but one thing many of them have in common is a love of making art.

Some students cannot afford things like pencils, erasers, and paintbrush sets, while other students come to class with lots of their own supplies.

The thing is, these materials are expensive and we can use all the help we can get in purchasing new supplies to keep our classroom running smoothly.

My Project

We are about to begin a sculpture unit, where we will work with cardboard, papier-mache, and clay! Students will practice hand-building techniques with clay and then create projects based on their own plans and research. Students will also work on collaborative projects such as cardboard sculptures of everyday objects, painted with acrylic paint.
