Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Call me crazy, but I love teaching prek students! After retiring 5 years ago, I decided to go back to my first love….working with the youngest learners and introducing them to the world of literacy! My students are in a Title 1 school and are Spanish-speaking 3 and 4 year olds. Along with reading and writing, I will also be teaching them about art, music, science and social studies. They are a lovely group of bright and active students who are ready to conquer pre-K! Our classroom is well equipped with books, toys, learning materials and furniture. What we lack are the consumable materials that are used in our daily program, such as dry erase markers, art paper, paints, aprons (to keep the paint off their clothes), more art products and supplies and general clean up materials to maintain a clean and safe environment.
