My Project

Outdoor play is critical for enhancing gross motor skills in young children. Activities such as running, jumping, climbing, and balancing help develop large muscle groups in the arms, legs, and torso, which are essential for overall physical coordination. These gross motor skills are crucial for a child’s physical growth, enabling them to move with better control, strength, and confidence. Outdoor environments also present varying challenges, such as uneven terrain, hills, or natural obstacles, which help refine a child's balance, flexibility, and spatial awareness. This active play not only supports physical health but also promotes cognitive development by encouraging problem-solving and creativity.

Pretend play involving an ice cream truck can be an excellent introduction to financial literacy for preschoolers.

During this play, children can engage in activities such as "buying" and "selling" ice cream, which introduces them to basic concepts like money exchange, pricing, and budgeting. They learn to associate items with value and understand that money is exchanged for goods. By taking turns being the customer and the vendor, they also practice counting money, recognizing coins and bills, and making decisions about purchases. This form of play lays the foundation for financial concepts that will become more concrete as they grow older, fostering early mathematical thinking and social skills like negotiation and turn-taking.
