My Project

Books are our escape. These times we are living in aren't easy for students who haven't had a "regular" school year in three years. My sixth-grade students need to dive into a good book that can enhance their understanding of our topics in language arts and history, that can allow them a little escape from today's stresses.

Sometimes, the world is a place where we find heartbreak, but in books, we can learn something new, transport ourselves to another time, or escape in the figurative language of a poem.

A good book can support a struggling student, who may find a spark to learn more about a topic after reading about it in a book.
