This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! Their enthusiasm for learning never ceases to amaze me. They work hard every day, staying engaged with hands-on activities and games that help them practice their skills and increase their knowledge. I love giving them the tools they need to succeed.

We are a low socioeconomic area and highly diverse school in Central California.

Nearly all of my students' learning happens at school. Most of my students have not traveled beyond our city walls. We are a small school with a big heart!

My Project

My wonderful students are returning to in person learning! I am so happy to know, that with our safe return, students have a chance to be together and feel somewhat normal again.

So much has transpired over the past year, some great and some quite challenging, but we have so much for which to be grateful.

I would like to take some time each day for students to write in gratitude journals. My goal is to spend just 10 minutes each day over 30 final school days to encourage not only gratitude, but mindfulness and a growth mindset. These journals and pens will make the activity much more special and serve a keepsake of this unique school year.
