My school is in the International District of Houston. My students come from so many different backgrounds and there are so many languages spoken throughout my classes, especially since I also teach English Language Learners. As a Title I School the overwhelming majority of our students are economically disadvantaged. Many of the students have jobs outside of school in order to help their families financially. I don’t want my students to worry about purchasing materials for my classroom. I want them to focus on what is important in my class: being students and being successful in math. The materials I am requesting will help us do graphing assignments and projects throughout the school year. Graphing is a big part of Algebra and is covered in nearly every chapter. Your assistance in getting these materials will help my students by allowing the to not worry about buying graphing materials. They will be able to focus on learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
