My Project

Students are encouraged to read daily in my classes, but sometimes they aren’t ready or able to tackle page after page of print. Zone students need that transition from non-reader to daily reader by engaging with a great story, told in the genre of Graphic Novel.

Graphic Novels meet students where they are and can plant the seed that READING IS ENJOYABLE!

Many times after a student has mastered the ability to read a graphic novel, they are ready to move onto longer works of prose.

The genre of Graphic Novels is increasingly popular among young people who are visually stimulated and need to ease into reading longer texts. Providing these reading materials will nurture a culture of reading that will likely build literacy skills and encourage students to read more.
