My Students

I teach in a 4th grade ICT classroom in a Title I school in Maspeth, Queens. There are currently 29 students in my classroom coming from many different backgrounds. In our class we embrace different learning styles and personalities.

In order to help our students succeed, we want to provide books that students are excited to read!

Funds from this project will go towards launching a graphic novel unit. My students are caring, curious and creative learners who deserve to have books they are excited to read.

My Project

My students love to read Graphic Novels and they are in high demand in our classroom! Adding 20 new graphic novels into my classroom library will create excitement and foster my students' love for reading.

Additionally, we will be doing a study of graphic novels in both reading and writing workshop in May.

Prize-Winning TOON Graphics will provide enrichment and excitement to my classroom library! These books will allow my students to have a wide variety of books to read, as well as use them as mentor texts when they are writing their own graphic novels! My students and I are always so thankful for any possible support provided.
