My Project

All students should be able to have books available that interest them. The students in my third grade class have at least 15-20 minutes of independent reading a day. I want to have a variety of books for them to choose ones that interest them. Independent reading time can be difficult for students when they cannot find a book that interests them.

These graphic novels will allow the students an alternative to the traditional books in our classroom library.

My students especially love the Dog Man series. They are always asking about the books and will come to school with them from the public library. My students would be thrilled to have this series in our classroom library. We currently do not have any graphic novels in our library and we would love to have a section in there for them.

With this addition to our library, I hope to have more students engaged and become active readers. Once my students start to get the want to read, they will become better readers and gain many reading skills the more they read.
