This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Global Family School provides One-Way Dual Language Immersion (Spanish/English) education to 400+ TK-5th grade students in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, California. The library reopened this school year and we are excited to stock it with new books for the kids. Graphic novels are some of their favorites to read and they have been proven to improve literacy especially with reluctant and developing readers. These books will go straight on the shelves and kids will be able to take them home to improve their literacy in engaging and fun ways!
