Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is full of books, different types of technology, flexible seating, and music. Students are able to switch seats and complete their work all over the classroom, wherever and however they are most successful.

My students are a great group of students who love to move, create, learn, ask questions, and occasionally make a mess in the​ classroom.

I am lucky enough to have two classes of 4th graders for science. Whenever we have a lab to complete in class, you can sense the excitement from everybody, including myself.

My Project

My 4th graders love reading. They cheer when we listen to an extra chapter of our class audiobook, they create sign up sheets to check out the newest additions to our classroom library, and they create wish lists of books they wish we could add to our already crowded shelves.

Providing a wide variety of diverse books is so important, especially at a young age.

Students love seeing characters they can relate to in the books they are reading. I also want to expose my students to classic literature, like Anne of Green Gables and Black Beauty, and provide the original and graphic novel versions.
