My Project

My juniors are in their last required year of taking Latin, we shall translate selection of Virgil's Aeneid from Latin (into English). I wish to make their last *required* memorable so that they might opt into one more year.

The graphic novel of the Aeneid will bring the whole epic story to life far better than a video can.

The story of Dido and Virgil has influenced generations of painters and writes, especially in the Renaissance. Today's teenagers, however, often mistake an old story for a boring one. My goal with the graphic novel is to have the students read - because we all need to read more - and see the comic-book style renderings to help they better understand the plot.

The other books are to be used with the Latin to English translations: which is the goal of the class.
