My Students

My little Pre-Kindergarteners are little minds of wonder. They are a group of 4 and 5 year olds with mixed interests, abilities, and goals. These little minds have grown and developed in so many ways. They were learning to read, write, count, socialize, and be part of a class community mostly through play. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our school had been closed since March 13, 2020. My students have not only been affected by living in the highest affected city in the nation, but also because of the social-economical status of their family. These children come from all types of backgrounds and have limited resources to continue learning at home.

They have already been cheated out of so many school activities and experiences, and even though their graduation will be celebrated remotely, I want to help put a smile on their faces with a gift to acknowledge all their hard work this school year!

My Project

Please help me give my Pre-k class an end-of-the-year treat with a memorable gift! We started out the year strong, but unfortunately, COVID-19 ruined our end of the year celebration. Typically at the end of the year, they would get a graduation type of celebration, awards, fun activities, and gifts from me. I want to give my students a gift that will put some fun in their long summer days. I want to still provide as many of those things as I can from a distance. 

This project will be delivered to each of my student’s home in an effort to show them that all their hard work and learning is acknowledged and rewarded.

This will also show my children that their teacher truly cares!

With the items my students will receive, they will have the opportunity to enhance their gross motor skills with the inflatable beach ball, the water shooter, as well as their fine motor skills by coloring in the canvas bag with the markers. This will also ensure lots of summer time fun for them!
