Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Do you love math? I do and I want the same for my students! I teach a wonderful group of students at a Title I school. Over 70% of the students are Hispanic are still learning the English language.

My students love to learn and want to be successful, especially in math.

Due to the language barrier and other socioeconomic factors(and the pandemic), my math students are not working on their grade level. They do not have the necessary prior knowledge and have fallen behind their peers in mathematics. Many of them are not enthusiastic about learning math because it's overwhelming for them. It is hard for them to learn material on their grade level because they lack number sense and the basic skills.

My project includes a several Grab and Play Math Games with focus on Subtraction, Addition, Telling Time, and Place Value. These easy-to-use math activities build math skills for various operations and provide multiple experiences to practice math.

The behavior incentives, such as the puffer balls and fun erasers, etc., will be used to reinforce good choices that the students make.

Overall, this project contains resources that my students can use and have fun with, all while deepening their understanding of mathematics. Please consider donating to my project!
