My Students

My reluctant readers want to read, but they just need a little motivation and the Nook E-Reader is just what they need.

My students' families don't have the financial resources to keep up with the changing technology of today.

Not all children are able to have access to all the different types of technology of today. In order to give each child an opportunity, we need this technology in the schools. I am a 4th grade teacher with 26 enthusiastic students in my class. About 80 percent of my students are on free or reduced lunch. All of my students are highly motivated to learn, no matter what challenges they face at home or in their community. All the parents in my class want the best education for their child and they try to do the best they can.

My Project

The Nook is a tool that can be used to motivate students to learn. Most of my students have never seen or touched one before. It is amazing how fast they can learn. The Nook has the capability to help my students practice reading and motivate them to read even more! I am determined to bring different forms of technology into my classroom. My students (and future students) and I appreciate your support. Technology makes learning fun! My students need the Nook to help enhance their educational and technological needs. Their families cannot afford this type of technology at home to support and enhance their learning and therefore we as a school need to provide it for them.

With your help, students will develop a love and a desire for reading, which will prepare them for success in high school, college and their future careers!
