My Students

Each year we have more and more students who have families struggling to make it and who often have to move in with relatives after a job loss. Many also come from military families. The students at our school really want to make good choices and we have a staff that is working to help guide students. Our staff continually goes above and beyond to help their students. The school is based on the idea that we are all part of the same team, and we work towards helping all students. Almost 100% of certified staff work as mentors during their personal time to give students who need extra help the attention they need, whether it is an academic or a personal need. We are working hard to make sure our students are prepared for the future. We have added a MakerSpace and are now working to extend our STREAM clubs.

My Project

A key component to any scientific process is documentation and evaluation. Our STEM program is growing, and it is a very active, busy learning environment. We would like to have the ability to capture what is happening, and then be able to evaluate the various activities that are going on.

The ability to capture the many different activities that students are engaged with, so they can then review and critique the process.

The GoPro HERO is perfect because it can be mounted on one of the robots as it follows it program, or be taken around the room to get a sense of all the activities that the students are working on.

We can also use it to make a video to share with the students in our school, or even other schools. The sharing of information is important. Included in the project is a tripod stand to allow for the GoPro to be set in a location for video capture.

Other items included are a memory card and extra battery, along with needed items to transfer the information to our iPads.

I am so excited to add this to our STEM program. Thank you for your support.
