My Students

My school is a performing arts and technology elementary school in Astoria, NY. Our school believes in constant collaboration and teamwork. We are lucky to have such a diverse group of students here in Astoria. I currently work with eleven inspiring fourth and fifth grade students each day. My students are hardworking, talented, and entertaining! Despite the various obstacles they face, they continue to persevere. My students treat each day as a new start. Everyday I watch my students grow in confidence and overcome their struggles.

My Project

The use of technology in my classroom has enhanced student learning enormously, especially for all students with motor skill deficiencies. Using Google Chrome notebooks in the classroom will help students’ complete assignments in manageable time and provide me the opportunity to see their work progression in real time with continuous backups. Working in a special education bridge classroom all of my students have individual needs and supports they require, through the use of additional Chrome notebooks I would be able to greater personalized activities for students, communicate with them, and provide them all limitless access to resources to support their learning.

All students are motivated to use Chromebooks and take more ownership of their work.

Through your donation my students will not only feel highly engaged each day but reach higher academic levels, since they will be able to focus on a personal Chrome notebook. This technological additional will boost literacy, research abilities, mathematic skills and creative opportunities.
