My Students

Each day, my students enter our classroom with big dreams and aspirations. Their brains are like sponges, taking in all new pieces of information. I teach at a PreK-8 school in Newark, NJ where all students receive free or reduced-price meals.

Despite many hardships they may face outside of the classroom, my students are eager to learn within our classroom community and love coming to school to achieve greatness.

They learn to show kindness, compassion, and empathy towards their peers, and most importantly, themselves. I want my students to know that I believe in them and care about them as if they were my own kids. They are the reason I step through the school doors each morning.

My Project

Right now, only part of my class can return to in-person instruction. The other group will be learning virtually at home. These materials will help in two ways: they will help students who are returning to school to have an "individualized" workspace with all that they need throughout the day. For the other group, I'd like to create welcome goodie bags and deliver them to students' homes in September, so they also have the materials needed to complete assignments and follow along with the class. Whether in school or at home, I hope to provide each student with much of what they need to have a safe, successful 2020-2021 school year!
