Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of an ICT fourth grade classroom located in the Washington Heights neighborhood of upper Manhattan. The majority of my students come from low-income families and receive free lunch. My class is filled with young, eclectic, energetic, and curious minds that love to explore through learning.

My students learn ELA, Science, and Social Studies within one classroom setting and require differentiated learning applied thoroughly throughout our curriculum.

To engage their curious, enthusiastic, and growing minds immediate access to technology, health and wellness resources, functional classroom dynamics, and basic classroom supplies will allow the students to learn hands-on; a requirement towards their differentiated learning.

My Project

Traditional classroom seating is a thing of the past! Many teachers have begun incorporating flexible seating into their classroom and have seen amazing results. It is my goal this school year to incorporate various options to my students towards encouraging positive and reinforced learning experiences.

Through the use of a mobile table, my students will have the option of using the table as a choice of seating while they complete assignments.

Additionally, to meet our physical movement goals, the table's mobility allow us to easily slide out it of the way while we do physical movement activities in class.

In addition to the table, I have selected a comfy blue couch that will provide a relaxing and comforting seating choice towards our learning environment.

With these items, our students will have more choices towards their independent work space. Allowing them to individually find the BEST working environment that they can excel!
