Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine being hungry, exhausted, and traumatized from unsafe surroundings and then having to be at school bright and early ready to learn and engage. This reality is true for many of my students in Washington, DC. They work, take care of family, many live without parents, are dealing with adverse childhood experiences, and more.

This project is to create a space of positive vibes where students can prepare themselves to thrive in class.

Donors' contributions will go towards providing food, snacks, and safe reflection spaces for students to have their basic needs met so that they can focus on learning while at school. The project will help students to get the foundational skills they need to change their circumstances outside of the school.
