My 6th grade students are comprised of 30 students who love to do hands-on projects! They enjoy doing group projects where they can take an active roll in their education. Our school encourages learning through experience and the children thrive on these chances to explore! We are a K-6, Title I school in Alabama with students from many culturally diverse backgrounds. My students take pride in their work and enjoy taking on new challenges for the sake of learning. Every day is a new adventure!
My Project
Nothing is better than a good book! My 6th grade students are studying about the medieval time period through our Engage NY module. Each child will be able to have their own book to study the skills for the module and the vocabulary. Being able to look back at the novel to study prior chapters is crucial to the learning process, and helps us reflect on the characters. We will be able to group and do more with the novel by having individual copies.
Grouping encourages conversation during learning and encourages the children to discuss and learn through their differences of opinions.
This book will allow my students to learn about life during the medieval time period and how the people survived and adapted.
