My Students

Hello! I teach in a K-2 school with approximately 1,000 students. Our school has a diverse population of students. My students are smart, enthusiastic, creative, hardworking, eager, and respectful. My classroom consists of students from all different backgrounds. I have high functioning students, low functioning students, and ELL students. My school offers reading and math interventions to aid struggling learners in their educational success.

I am dedicated to my students.

It is my goal to provide an inviting, nurturing, and warm classroom where each student feels comfortable.

Our school does not receive Title I funding. Thus, the technology and resources in my classroom are limited. Most of my resources are supplied by either myself or through parent donations. The environment provided by the administration, teachers, and staff is inviting and nurturing. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of each student that walks through the doors.

My Project

For this project, I am hoping to completely revamp my classroom library with a variety of short novels, book series, and non-fiction books. My classroom library is stocked with picture books but as my students become better readers, they are becoming bored with these "easier" books.

The books in this project are books that excite them and motivate them to read.

By providing these books in my classroom library, I will have their favorite titles at their fingertips. I know that these books will be motivating for my students for years to come. In this project, I am also asking for book shelf dividers. These will be helpful in organizing the new books that we hope to receive. My plan is to organize all of the books by series so that the students can easily and quickly locate the book they want to read.
