Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have been celebrating the Lunar New Year by creating beautifully and creative Chinese paper-cutting art. I am still using the wonderful supplies donated with the help of Panda Express from years ago. I want to expand our supplies from red paper and scissors to calligraphy paper, brushes, and premade cutting patterns. Some students loved to try the variety of patterns provided or modify them. Some students struggled and I discovered the premade patterns are fun.

We want to decorate the whole school with bright decorations and share lucky coins and envelopes with everyone.

We love to post our paper cutting art on the windows and walls of the school. My classroom is on a very busy street. I fill my windows with artwork so everyone can participate and enjoy the New Year!
