Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am moving schools this year and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to teach at the school I went to when I was in elementary!! I will become a Mark Twain Comet again, only this time, I will be teaching 2nd grade!

All kids love science!

Whether it's the rocks and minerals of Earth Science, the animals in Life Science, or understanding how machines work in Physical Science, my job as a teacher is to help kiddos find what ignites their love of science!

One of the items I am asking for is a kid-friendly microscope with additional slides that include images of different plants and animals for the kiddos to explore. I have asked for a set of tuning forks to help explain how sound works and to let the students discover how to adjust the sound and pitch. I have also asked for building blocks that we call hashtag block in our room. The kiddos always create the most interesting items with them during winter when we have to have more days of indoor recess. My favorite so far has been a chicken on a couch!
