My Students

I teach 3rd and 4th grade special education in Norfolk, VA.

My students live in an urban area and typically come from low socio-economic backgrounds.

My students work hard to overcome obstacles every day, but they push through and always persevere. I am so proud of their hard work and the progress they make.

My Project

I had created a "Summer Fun" project that had items such as beach balls, a sand pail, sunglasses and chalk. I'm happy to say that project was recently funded and these amazing items are on their way to my school. My students are so excited to receive these items and use them when school is out in just 25 days!

I hope to give my students even more safe, fun options to keep them busy this summer!

Over half of my students come from low-income families who do not have immediate access to safe summer options. I hope that this kite will provide a create outlet for my students and also a way for them to have fun with their families. The towels will ensure that all students have a warm way to dry off after playing outside on hot, sweaty days. It can also provide a place for them to lay outside while flying their kites!
