My students need blacklight materials in the classroom to "glow what they know" during our Glow Day. The black light, balloons, and other glow in the dark supplies will be used to transform our classroom.

My Students

I love the question "what makes your students special" knowing that EVERYTHING is not the best answer but it is most certainly true. My students are eager to learn and want to do their best daily. Their confidence is contagious and they make teaching the best job around.

I teach at a Title I school with diverse students from all walks of life.

Many of the students receive free/reduced lunch and also receive "backpack buddies" which provides them with food and snacks for the weekend. Despite the challenges they may face, my students come to school ready to do their very best.

My Project

"Glow What You Know" will be a tradition in our classroom beginning this year! The black light, balloons, and other reusable materials will be used to completely transform our classroom for an unforgettable experience for my students. The materials will be used to decorate and set the scene. I can only imagine the excitement on my students' faces when they see our classroom transformation. The students' excitement from engaging lessons multiples their engagement and take-away from the lesson.

With the black light materials and diverse books, their knowledge will be glowing!

I am also asking for a few books to help build our classroom library. The book "Snail Mail" will be used to introduce the exciting news of having a Pen Pal this year to help with my students' independent writing. The personal classroom mailbox will be exciting for the students when they receive letter responses back from our Pen Pals. The buzzers will also be used during "Glow What You Know" as well as other activities in our classroom.
