Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is being created to support our young women of color who attend our small yet extremely diverse high school. Our school is located in the Bensonhurst area of Brooklyn, NY. However, our student population travels from impoverished neighboring areas in Brooklyn, i.e. Coney Island, Brownsville, and Sunset Park.

This particular group of young women come from all walks of life such as undocumented families, single-parent homes, foster homes, and the foster care system.

They are coping with trauma, and learning how to navigate their way through life and the many challenges that can present themselves.

The items selected will be used by our students to meet their personal and academic needs. Positive affirmation stickers are a wonderful way to boost self confidence and self-awareness. While they self-reflect in their journals, they’ll be able to write with their cute, crystal diamond pens, and practice self-care while using facial masks.

Our students will be learning how to appreciate and build their self worth thanks to the supplies being provided by your donations.
