Glow Big or Glow Home 2024

Help me give my students glow in the dark for glow day this fall!

My Project

I teach in a rural Title 1 school district in central Pennsylvania. After consolidations, we have one of the largest elementary schools in the state with approximately 1100 students K-6. Unfortunately, this means our students miss out on a lot of classic "elementary experiences" because of our size. In PE class, we see students 1x per week with about 50 students in the gym at a time.

As PE teachers, we would love to host special glow unit again this year.

Last year was the first time we did it - and students LOVED it!

Our ideal plan is to do our glow unit during Halloween as a special event. We already have black lights, some glow in the dark equipment, rope lights, and more! This year, I would like to add glow bean bag toss as a station, have a better ball for our volleyball game, and have some additional lights along the bleachers.

Most importantly, each student getting their own glow bracelet/necklace really makes it feel special to them and included.
