Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in a small town with a population of approximately 8,000. The school district strives to provide a quality education for all its students with a wide range of programs and a talented staff dedicated to the needs of its students. The district serves more than 1,300 students in grades TK-8.

During the last academic school year, our site shifted to an intermediate school site and we now serve grades 5-8 on the school campus.

We are constantly growing, and we currently have just under 600 students on campus this year.

Our school is committed to providing a strong instructional program for all students to ensure excellence in education. One of the main goals for our site is to create a college-going culture and mindset that builds the expectation that all students—not just the best students succeed at college.

My Project

Our classroom needs a globe to help us learn about the world. A globe provides us with hands-on experience with the shape of our planet and how resources and countries are situated on it. This helps us tie in current events as well as a variety of curriculum targets in a meaningful way for students.

The globe and inflatable world set will allow us to engage in hands-on, spatial learning The globe helps our students keep the world in perspective while honing their geography skills and the inflatables set allows us to keep learning fun and active.

The inflatables can be used for many fun activities such as a round-robin where the ball is tossed and students need to identify where their thumbs are located along with so much more. We would appreciate any help with this goal. Our kids are inquisitive and creative and would really gain a lot of understanding through the use of these engaging learning tools.
