My Students

My students live in the heart of a diverse neighborhood. They are young, energetic and lively and are an excellent group to introduce the amazing world of science.

My students need to develop their science capital.

One great way is to encourage them to read about current scientific events. They are currently becoming aware that science is everywhere around them and are beginning to explore the curious side of their scientific personalities in 6th and 7th grade.

They are eager to learn and I am determined that they should enjoy the beauty of science not only in their immediate neighborhood to throughout their state.

My Project

I wish to provide additional scope for science learning that allows students to enter the science conversation at multiple levels and engage them in different science based interests. These magazines all students to explore careers and professions that they previously had no exposure to and will allow them to begin the process of seeing themselves represented in multiple careers. Additionally, these magazines will also allow my students with special needs to utilize apps such ad immersive readers to join the science conversation, build their comprehension skills and provide them with the visuals that enhance their learning
