My Project

Many of my students do not have their own laptops or tablets and often are trying to use their cell phones or their parents' phone to access school work, homework or work online. This can make things very challenging and frustrating for them as they don't work as well as an actual laptop or more advanced device. I work closely with the special education population in an area of Brooklyn where many families are struggling and living in shelters. It is not easy for them to get clothes or housing so technology or school supplies are even more difficult for them to provide for their children.

I often work with students who have a hard time, academically and/or behaviorally and at times need a space away from the classroom to take a break or change of space.

Donating to this project will improve my students confidence and show them they can achieve their goals by giving them access to such wonderful resources. If I am able to give them a place where they can come to do their work, research high schools and complete online activities/lessons then that would be perfect.

I want them to have access to technology and resources so they can be more successful and feel more confident in their ability to participate and be successful. My goal is to make their education experience successful and in turn increase their self confidence while showing them they have the ability to reach their goals.
