This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
As a third year teacher, I have quickly realized that no two students are the same. Students learn differently, react to situations differently, and my big one, their attention spans and level of concentrations are different. I started introducing flexible seating last year and was amazed in the shift I witnessed in my classroom. My students were more on task, less distractions were taking place, and the quality of work from my students with ADHD improved immensely! After doing research, I came across Ergo stools! A lightbulb came on in my head and I said, "We can wobble while we work!" I notice as a teacher, more time is spent refocusing and redirecting students than actually teaching and creating bonds. In my classroom, I want my students to know it okay to not be still at times, its okay to move and refocus, its okay to just be you! The Eggo stool will help us "Wobble While We Work!"
