My Students

Our school has a well-blended community of students who are of varying cultures. While many students were born and raised in the surrounding community, others are new to the city or even to the country. This allows us to share our unique experiences and learn from each other. This is what anyone would notice when visiting our school. What they wouldn't see is the underlying hardships that many of these students have to face on a daily basis.

Despite their hardships, my students come to school eager to learn!

This is such an admirable quality, but this eagerness is still met with challenges. The majority of our students are from low income families, and many are currently homeless or have been in the past. This means that many of our students are not provided with the tools and resources needed for an education unless they are provided by their teachers, their school, or the school district.

I have often provided those needs in the past, but now that our district has recently made significant technological advances, I am faced with new challenges. I hope to meet their needs so that my students can remain eager to learn.

My Project

Many of my students are unable to charge their devices prior to arriving at school. Imagine being that student who is dedicated and wants to learn but is unable to come prepared due to reasons that are beyond your control. This tablet charging station will help ease that burden for students.

I have selected a table top charging dock that will allow those students in my first period class to charge their device while they complete their work.

This will level the playing field between those students and the others who have the ability to charge their device the night before.
