This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a middle school Science special education teacher. I have taught 6-8th grade Science to some our our most vulnerable students. In my classroom, the Qball will provide a powerful tool for amplifying student voices, boosting confidence, and increasing engagement. This throwable microphone makes participation fun and encourages even the quietest students to speak up. By incorporating the Qball, I can create an interactive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels heard.

This tool will help promotes equitable participation, giving all students—especially those who are shy or hesitant—a chance to contribute.

By speaking and listening actively, students will strengthen their communication skills, building confidence in a supportive space.

This tool will help encourage active participation: The Qball will make speaking up fun and engaging. It will also improve communication skills: Students will develop essential speaking and listening abilities. Lastly, it will create a collaborative classroom: Discussions will be more dynamic, fostering peer learning and confidence.

My students are curious, creative, and eager to learn, regardless of what their disabilities are. They come from diverse backgrounds, bringing unique perspectives to our classroom. The Qball will ensure that every voice is valued, helping students build confidence while making learning more interactive and enjoyable.

By introducing the Qball into our classroom, I aim to create a space where all students feel empowered to share their ideas, leading to deeper learning and meaningful discussions.
