My Students

We are two teachers in an integrated classroom setting of 26 students; 60% of our students being general ed. while 40% of our students have special needs. Being teachers in a low-income high poverty school district, our students are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. With that being said, a majority of our students live in either public housing, shelters, or foster homes. All of our students receive free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.

Our classroom is a place where our students can feel safe regardless of their environmental circumstances.

We love our students and want to be able to give them the world. We see their eagerness to succeed, which makes us eager to provide them with the best education possible. We hope that you can help us with this by funding our projects. We appreciate anything you can give. Thank you!

My Project

We are in need of two folding easels will allow us to parallel teach (two teachers teaching the same subject in different areas of the room to smaller groups of students). We will be able to focus on a group of 13 students each, rather than an entire class of 26 students. We will be able to utilize these easels throughout the entire day of teaching. These materials will impact the learning of every student in our class. By having these easels, many distractions that our students face in an integrated classroom will be eliminated and we would be able to provide small group instruction conducive to the individual needs of our students.

As teachers of lower income students, we are continuously searching for ways to provide our students with the same opportunities provided to students being taught in smaller classroom settings.

The charging station will allow our tablets to always be fully charged and ready to use no matter the time of day. It will also help organize our room.
