Help me give my students the opportunity to participate in class! I work with many students who are non-speaking, and because of that, they might not have a chance to answer questions. Please give them a chance!

My Project
I'm requesting these communication devices to give my non-speaking students an opportunity to answer in class. Typically, teachers will use static display communication devices (such as these) to allow minimally verbal students an opportunity to answer "wh" questions in class. They can also be used to facilitate peer to peer interactions. I've always appreciated such devices because they give all students a voice! Both non-speaking and speaking students enjoy using communication devices. I've seen students who are verbal but prefer pressing a button on the communication device because they are shy. In addition, using a communication device serves as a visual for all students and provides them with options for answers.
Another reason I'm asking for these devices is because the teachers I work with would benefit from using them.
Many experienced teachers have acquired devices over the years, but the two teachers I work with are newer so they have not gotten communication devices for their classrooms yet. I have seen how devices have helped other teachers and classrooms, and I would like my two colleagues to help their classrooms just the same! Devices can be programmed to include words relating to different subjects, and words can be changed to reflect the target vocabulary for different months.
My students are eager and ready to learn. Many of my younger students in grades Kindergarten through second grade are very enthusiastic and waiting for an opportunity to participate. Not all of my students are communicating verbally yet, but I would like to give them alternative means to respond so they get to shine too. I think all students feel proud when they answer a question correctly in class, so I want to give all my students that opportunity. I hope you can help make this a possibility for my classes!
