My Project

My fifth and fourth grade students are excited to take part in a student-led community service activity aimed at supporting younger students in our school. This initiative came about while talking to upper-grade students. They are dedicating their recess time to create fidget tools for younger peers who may struggle with focus and staying on task during class.

The Fidget Tool Creation Initiative will empower upper-grade students to take action by designing and constructing various fidget tools with the 3D printer.

These tools will be crafted with care and creativity, providing younger students with resources to help them with their wellness and help them concentrate better in their learning environment. By engaging in this hands-on project, upper-grade students will not only develop their leadership skills but also foster a sense of responsibility and empathy towards their younger classmates.

The community we seek to serve includes the entire school, specifically focusing on younger students who may benefit from additional support in maintaining focus during lessons. This initiative aims to enhance the overall learning experience within our school community by ensuring that all students have access to tools that facilitate better concentration and engagement.

To successfully execute this project, we are requesting materials such as a 3D printer, enclosure, and filaments. These materials will be essential for students to lead the initiative effectively. By providing them with the necessary resources, we will enable our upper-grade students to take ownership of the project, collaborate with their peers, and create meaningful tools that will directly benefit their younger classmates.

Through this community service project, we aim to create a positive impact within our school by fostering connections between students of different grades and promoting an inclusive learning environment.
