This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The very best way to describe my class would be that it is one group of curious, enthusiastic, and positive learners!

A significant number of students at my school come from low-income households and don't always have the resources that they need.

When I attach resources and classwork materials online, students would come to me at the end of the day and would ask me if I can print them out using our classroom printer as they don't have a printer at home. Students in my class manually scale and graph functions on printer paper because they don't have grid papers to use and they sometimes use scrap papers for exit ticket problems. My kids are always eager to learn independently and are always willing to practice solving challenging problems but continuously searching for similar math problems becomes a tedious process for them.

We need the toner and imaging unit for the printer to print out resources and materials that would help them become better and independent math students. Moreover, the post-it notes and grids will be utilized by the students for them to create accurate graphs that they can attach on their notebooks and they can save their loose leaf paper for their notes. Finally, the classroom textbook supplement will be used by students who want to do independent and advanced work on specific topics that we are learning.
