My Project

Hi, I am a 6th-8th grade SPED (Special Education) teacher in Louisiana. My students are very friendly with unique personalities. They love to attend school, and we have a personal bond with each student. Our students need iPads for communication purposes.

I am creating this project to give my students a voice.

My students are mild-moderate and severe-profound. The students are currently non-speaking. I am using teacher-made resources, but they are not enough to assess their true understanding of the content. Being in a low-income district makes it difficult to acquire certain materials if I can not buy them out of pocket.

These iPads will allow the students to request basic needs such as being thirsty or needing to use the restroom (with teaching and directing). They will also assist them in the classroom with answering questions regarding their lesson. Please help us to make this possible as students are making gains, but they will need additional assistance. Thanks in advance for your support, Mrs. Williams.
