Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my biology class, students are studying how disruptions to the environment impact plants and animals in ecosystems. One indicator of a healthy aquatic ecosystem is dissolved oxygen. They are designing experiments to see how different disruptions impact measurements of water quality such as dissolved oxygen.

This dissolved oxygen meter will give students the ability to test this important aspect of water quality.

Students will collect data over time and see how their disruptions (such as excess nitrogen in the water) impact water quality and therefore the ability of organisms to live in that water. Thank you in advance for your kind support of this project giving students the chance to do real science!
