Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The school's minority student enrollment is 97%. The student-teacher ratio is 13:1. The student population is made up of 48% female students and 52% male students. The school enrolls 87% economically disadvantaged students. My girls are passionate, full of personality, and have tremendous potential. They are also in good academic standing with (3) players in honors and (2) in AP classes. Their salvation from the streets is basketball. They use basketball as an outlet and a way to connect to the fellow girls. It builds sisterhood, perseverance and balance. These donations for this project will help our team become successful. This year is the final season for some of my players. Five of them are seniors and they should have all they need in order to have a memorable season.

These resources will improve our team by giving them appropriate size basketball will help practice for in session PSAL Basketball games.

The Pink Sticky Mat will help give the girls balance and aid them not to slip and slide on the basketball court. This gives them extra support in games. The individualized water bottles will give them hydrated during practices and games. The medicine balls will aide them practices to build their core strength and arm strength. The Pinnies Sports Vest will be used in basketball practices, scrimmages and to distinctively separate players on the team when practicing.
